I mostly see the tierlist based on versatility, like, How many bad matchups has certain character, and in that bad matchups, How much the characters suffers.

Mostly a newer dlc character, or even better a guest character

One of the biggest problems/traps I see people fall into is the combo trials because they will put a lot of work into finding and learning a situational combo, and then they get angry at the game and quit when they cant land it in game.

I play zoners and the best way I have found to describe it to salty people is zoning is as hard as the opponent makes it so if you think zoning is extremely easy congratulations you are the one making it that

Personally, i try to look at kit type tier lists. I don't really mind the viability of a character as long as they remain enjoyable enough but aren't total trash. For me, this is character such as ddd or k rool in ssbu, whiie they aren't the best they have kits and express growth and training.

I think their matchup chart (weighted for how often you see each opponent in tournament play) is best 😊
